Lake Urmia in Iran was once the world’s second largest salt lake, but in a matter of years it shrank to almost nothing. due to increasing temperatures and a changing climate combined with booming agriculture in the region. Now, the lake is slowly coming back to life.By late 2020, the lake had been significantly restored and tourists welcomed the return of the waters .The ship Hamzeh, seen here in 2016, used to ferry passengers across the lake.
